Welcome to Room 46

Welcome to fourth  grade. In our school it is the year you move upstairs  which is  a very important move.  We will be Racing for Success in every area of our school life.  We want to be successful  readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians and historians.  We also want to be successful school citizens.

In our classroom we will be using CHAMPS to remind us about correct behavior in the classroom and throughout the school.  I have been reading the CHAMPS book this summer and I know this will help  us all be very successful this year.

The entire county will be using a brand new reading series this year and all of the teachers are buzzing about it.  We are excited about new materials and texts for reading.  The very first theme  will be called Journeys  and  we will be talking about the genre of Mystery books.

So far  this summer I have read  The Hundred Penny Box, Sisterchicks  Go Brit, Who Stole the Wizard of Oz?, The Best School Year Ever, Crash,    and  The Penderwicks  as well as some "teaching books".  Most of the books listed will be in our classroom library.
